Teaching Initial Reading and Writing to Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou výuky počátečního čtení a psaní u žáků s poruchami autistického spektra. Teoretická část práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První kapitola se zabývá charakteristikou, etiologií a klasifikací poruch autistického spektra, a diagnostickými prostředky. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na legislativní rámec vzdělávání žáků s PAS, poradenské služby poskytované těmto osobám a systém vzdělávání. Třetí kapitola obsahuje charakteristiku intervence a organizačních forem práce žáků s PAS, a principy strukturovaného učení. Dále shrnuje požadavky a cíle vztahující se k výuce čtení a psaní a popisuje metody čtení a psaní, které se ve výuce uplatňují. Empirická část diplomové práce má podobu kvalitativního výzkumu. Je zpracována formou kazuistik, které se zabývají průběhem výuky čtení a psaní u žáků s poruchami autistického spektra. Cílem diplomové práce je popsat průběh výuky, charakterizovat používané metody a postupy a formulovat obecné zásady výuky žáků s poruchami autistického spektra.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with teaching inicial reading and writing to pupils with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The theoretical part is devided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with characteristic, etiology, clasiffication of autism spectrum disorders and theirs diagnosis. The second chapter focuses on legislation related to education of children with ASD, consulting services and education system. The third chapter contains the characteristics of intervention and organizational forms of work with pupils with ASD and it also describes the principles of structured learning. The chapter also summarizes requirements and goals related to teaching reading and writing and describes methods applied in the education process. The empirical part is the qualitative research processed into case studies, which deals with teaching inicial reading and writing to pupils with ASD. Description of education process, characterization of used methods and procedures, and a definition of the general principles of teaching pupils with autism spectrum disordes are the goals of the diploma thesis.
