Abstract:

Abstrakt Tato diplomová práce Přístup k žákům s dyslexií ve výuce anglického jazyka se zabývá problematikou výuky anglického jazyka dětí, kterým byla diagnostikována dyslexie. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jaké přístupy a strategie učitelé anglického jazyka používají ve vyučování a jakým způsobem to ovlivňuje sebevědomí a motivaci žáků s dyslexií. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do dvou částí – teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se věnuje základní charakteristice studentů se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami s důrazem na pojem dyslexie a potíže spojené s dyslexií. Tato práce také poskytuje teoretické základy týkající se přístupů a strategií navržené odborníky pro výuku žáků s dyslexií v cizojazyčné třídě. Praktická část se skládá ze tří případových studií, které se zaměřují na učitele a přístupy a strategie navržené v teoretické části, které používají a jaký dopad to má na sebevědomí a motivaci vybraných žáků s diagnostikovanou dyslexií. Pro účely této práce byli použity polo strukturované otázky pro učitele a žáky s dyslexií a pozorovací list pro observaci hodiny. Teorie a výsledky výzkumu mohou posloužit učitelům anglického jazyka najít způsob, jak přistupovat k žákům s dyslexií ve výuce angličtiny jako cizího jazyka.

Abstract:

Abstract The diploma thesis The Approach to Learners Diagnosed with Dyslexia in ELT deals with the problem of teaching English to pupils who have been diagnosed with dyslexia. The aim of the thesis is to find out approaches and strategies that teachers of English apply in lessons and how it effects self-esteem and motivation of pupils with dyslexia. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis draws attention to basic characteristic of students with special educational needs with emphasis on concept of dyslexia and dyslexia related difficulties. This thesis also provides theoretical background to approaches and strategies suggested by experts for teaching pupils with dyslexia in a foreign language classroom. The practical part consists of three case study analyses that focus on teachers and approaches and strategies suggested in the theoretical part they apply in their lessons and what impact it has on self-esteem and motivation of selected pupils with dyslexia. For the purpose of this thesis semi-structured questions were utilized for interview with teachers and pupils with dyslexia and observation sheet form for lesson observation. The theory and research results may serve as a support for teachers to find their way in approaching pupils with dyslexia in teaching English as a foreign language.
