Analysis of the municipal elections in Šumperk city in 2006-2014.

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci se především zaměřuji na analýzu výsledku komunálních voleb ve městě Šumperk v letech 2006, 2010 a 2014. Teoretická část práce je věnována stručné historii města Šumperk, dále jsou formulovány základní pojmy související s obecní samosprávou a komunální politikou. Cílem práce je zodpovědět otázky týkající se věkové struktury zvolených zastupitelů, dále úspěšnosti jednotlivých zastupitelů z hlediska opakovaného zvolení a úspěšnosti tradičních stran z hlediska počtu získaných mandátů v zastupitelstvu města. V poslední části budu sledovat vývoj volební účasti v komunálních volbách v okrese Šumperk v malých obcích (do 500 obyvatel) a ve městech (nad 5 000 obyvatel).

Abstract:

In my thesis I focus on the analysis of the outcome of the municipal elections in Šumperk in 2006, 2010 and 2014. The theoretical part is devoted to a brief history of the town Sumperk, also formulated the basic concepts related to municipal government and local politics. The aim is to answer questions related to the age structure of the elected representatives, as well as the success of individual representatives in terms of repeated election and the success of the traditional parties in terms of the number of seats in the city assembly. In the last part I will follow the evolution of voter turnout in municipal elections in the district Šumperk in small villages (500 inhabitants) and cities (over 5,000 people).
