Sport as a means of social inclusion for children and young people

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na otázku sportu jako prostředku sociálního začlenění dětí a mládeže a jejím základním cílem je zjistit, do jaké míry jsou děti a mládež ovlivněni ve svém sociálním životě vlivem nemožnosti účasti na sportovních kroužcích. První kapitola práce je zaměřena na volný čas a jeho zvláštnosti u dětí a mládeže. Vymezen je tedy pojem volného času, jeho hlavní funkce, specifika volného času dětí a mládeže a také možnosti pro trávení volného času u dětí a mládeže. Zmíněn je zde také pojem a význam volnočasové pedagogiky. Ve druhé kapitole je pozornost zaměřena na otázku sportu a jeho role v životě dětí a mládeže. Proto je vymezen pojem sportu, funkce sportu, klasifikace existujících sportů a také možnosti zapojení dětí a mládeže do sportovních aktivit. Blíže je také popsána role sportu v životě dětí a mládeže. Třetí kapitola teoretické části práce provádí exkurz do problematiky sociálního začlenění a sociálního vyloučení u dětí a mládeže. Proto je charakterizován pojem sociálního začlenění, sociálního vyloučení a také příčiny tohoto stavu, poté je představena úloha sportovních kroužků coby jednoho z prostředků pro socializaci dětí a mládeže. Zmíněna je i negativní alternativa, a tedy sociální vyloučení dětí a mládeže vlivem nezapojení do sportovních aktivit, zejména pak sportovních kroužků pro děti a mládež. Čtvrtá kapitola práce je založena na empirickém šetření, které se skládá z kvantitativního i kvalitativního výzkumu. Představena je konkrétní metodika empirického šetření, vzorek respondentů a poté je provedena detailní interpretace zjištěných výsledků. V návaznosti na to jsou výsledky shrnuty a podrobeny diskuzi. V závěru práce pak jsou veškeré poznatky shrnuty.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the question of sport as a means of social inclusion of children and youth, and its basic goal is to find out to what extent children and youth are affected in their social life due to the impossibility of participating in sports clubs. The first chapter of the work is focused on free time and its peculiarities in children and youth. The concept of free time, its main functions, the specifics of children's and youth's free time, and the possibilities for spending free time among children and youth are thus defined. The concept and importance of leisure pedagogy is also mentioned here. In the second chapter, attention is focused on the issue of sport and its role in the lives of children and youth. Therefore, the concept of sport, the function of sport, the classification of existing sports and also the possibility of involving children and youth in sports activities are defined. The role of sports in the lives of children and youth is also described in more detail. The third chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis conducts an excursion into the issue of social inclusion and social exclusion in children and youth. Therefore, the concept of social inclusion, social exclusion and also the causes of this state are characterized, then the role of sports clubs as one of the means for the socialization of children and youth is presented. The negative alternative is also mentioned, i.e. the social exclusion of children and youth due to non-involvement in sports activities, especially sports clubs for children and youth. The fourth chapter of the thesis is based on an empirical investigation, which consists of quantitative and qualitative research. A specific methodology of empirical investigation, a sample of respondents is presented, and then a detailed interpretation of the results is performed. Following this, the results are summarized and discussed. At the end of the thesis, all findings are summarized.
