Gender contract in social work - influence of gender stereotypes from the perspective of the clients of nursing homes

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá pojetím gender kontraktu v sociální práci a ovlivněním klientů sociálních služeb gender stereotypy. Teoretická část je rozložena do tří hlavních okruhů. První okruh se zabývá klíčovými pojmy z oblasti genderové problematiky, především vznikem gender stereotypů, gender kontraktem a vlivem socializace na jedince, jenž je součástí společnosti. Následuje kapitola, která popisuje historii genderové oblasti. Další okruh se zabývá sociální prací. Popisuje posun pohledu společnosti na sociální práci z hlediska genderu jak u nás, tak v zahraničí. Poukazuje na nutnost profesionalizace sociální práce ve spojitosti s mocí a autoritou. Poslední okruh tématické části je věnován seniorům. Změně jejich postavení a péče o ně v průběhu dějin. Uvedeny jsou rovněž demografické údaje poukazující na stárnutí populace, čímž bude docházet k většímu využívání sociálních služeb v budoucnosti. Výzkumná část má za cíl zjistit pomocí dotazníkového šetření, zda a jakým způsobem jsou obyvatelé domu s pečovatelskou službou ovlivněni gender stereotypy a co konkrétně mělo vliv na utváření těchto stereotypů.

Abstract:

The presented diploma work deals with interpretation of gender contract in social work and effecting on clients of social services by gender stereotypes. The theoretical part is divided into three main scopes. The first scope pursues key concepts of the gender problematic sphere, focusing on formation of the gender stereotypes, the gender contract and the influence of the socialization on an individual who is a part of the society. A chapter which describes a history of the gender sphere follows. Next scope inquires into social work. It describes the shift of the society view on social work with respect to the gender in our country as well as abroad. It points out the necessity to professionalize the social work in connection with the power and authority. The last scope of the thematic part occupies senior citizens, the change of their social position and the care devoted to them during the history. The demographic data regarding population ageing, which will increase the use of social services in the future, are also given. The part considering research by means of a questionnaire is aimed at finding out how the citizens of the nursing home are influenced by the gender stereotypes and what specifically affected the formation of these stereotypes.
