The Models of Social Security in A Modern Post-industrial Society

Abstract:

Tato práce se věnuje změně struktury sociálního zabezpečení v České republice, která proběhla v souvislosti se změnou politického uspořádání koncem 90. let minulého století, respektive v návaznosti na tuto změnu. Práce je koncipována do několika částí. V první části je zaměřena na všeobecné vymezení pojmu sociálního zabezpečení, sociálního státu, sociální politiky a zásad, kterými se řídí. Rovněž se zabývá faktory, které způsobují změny v sociální struktuře, a shrnuje změny, které v sociální struktuře České republiky nastaly od 90 let. Nastiňuje také s jakými modely sociální zabezpečení je možno se setkat. Dále popisuje současný stav sociálního zabezpečení, včetně principů, na kterých sociální zabezpečení funguje, a poukazuje na nedostatky, které mohou být v systému spatřeny. Práce se rovněž zabývá trendy Evropské unie a tím, jak se projevují v naší právní úpravě.

Abstract:

This paper will deal with the change in the structure of the Czech social security system which was carried out in connection with the change in the political system at the end of the 1990s, and which indeed was a consequence of that political change. The paper is organised into several parts. Its objective is a general definition of the concept of social security, the welfare state, welfare policies and the principles which govern them. The paper will also deal with the factors which cause changes in the structure of society, and summarises the changes which have arrived since the 1990s. The paper also outlines those models of social security which can be encountered. It also describes the present state of social security, including the principles according to which social security functions, and indicates the deficiencies which can be spotted in the system. The paper also deals with trends in the European Union, and with the ways in which those trends show up in our own legal arrangement.
