Evaluation of the financial situation of the company and proposals for its improvement

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením finanční situace podniku a návrhy na její zlepšení. V literární rešerši jsou popsány metody hodnocení podniku, které jsou následně využity v analytické části práce. Předmětem analýzy je společnost LASVIT, s. r. o., která působí ve sklářském odvětví. Z tohoto důvodu byla v literární rešerši věnována také pozornost vývoji sklářského průmyslu v České republice v hodnoceném období. Současná finanční situace společnosti je zhodnocena na základě výsledků zvolených metod finanční analýzy a souhrnných indexů hodnocení. Tradiční finanční ukazatele jsou dále doplněny o Du Pontův rozklad ROE a ukazatel ekonomické přidané hodnoty. Pro hodnocení minulosti byl využit princip zpětné vazby a pro predikci budoucnosti byly využity bankrotní modely. Výsledky jsou komparovány s využitím metody benchmarkingu, konkrétně s průměrnými hodnotami ukazatelů ve sklářském odvětví. Na základě finálních závěrů, dosažených syntézou dílčích finančních i nefinančních výsledků práce, byla formulována doporučení, která by měla vést ke zlepšení finanční výkonnosti analyzované společnosti.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the financial situation of the company and suggestions for its improvement. In the literatury research are describe the methods of company evaluation, which are then used in the analytical part of the thesis. The subject of the analysis is the company LASVIT, s. r. o., which operates in the glass industry. For this reason, the development of the glass industry in the Czech Republic during evaluated period was described in the literature research. The current financial situation of the company is evaluated on the basis of the results of selected methods of financial analysis and summary evaluation models. Traditional financial indicators are further supplemented by Du Pont's decomposition of ROE and by economic value added indicator. The principle of feedback was used to evaluate the past and bankruptcy models were used to predict the future. The results are compared using the benchmarking method specifically with average values in the glass industry. Based on the final conclusions achieved by the synthesis of partial financial and non-financial results of the analysis were formulated recommendations that should lead to improved financial performance of the analyzed company.
