The Application of AAC Systems at Home for People With Disabilities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou možností využití systémů alternativní a augmentativní komunikace v procesu komunikace s jedinci se souběžným postižením více vadami v domově pro osoby se zdravotním postižením nacházejícím se v Jihomoravském kraji. První kapitola se věnuje vymezení souběžného postižení více vadami. V jednotlivých podkapitolách je dále charakterizováno mentální postižení, poruchy autistického spektra a tělesné postižení. Zabývají se etiologií, klasifikací a popisem jednotlivých druhů a stupňů postižení. Druhá kapitola se zabývá symptomatickými poruchami řeči u jednotlivých typů postižení a specifikami komunikace u jedinců se souběžným postižením více vadami. Třetí kapitola je věnována systémům alternativní a augmentativní komunikace. Definuje pojmy, charakterizuje jednotlivé systémy a pomůcky a jejich využití při komunikaci s osobami se souběžným postižením více vadami. V poslední kapitole je obsažen samotný výzkum prováděný v domově pro osoby se zdravotním postižením. Zaznamenává změny v komunikaci a chování u uživatelů se souběžným postižením více vadami při využívání alternativních a augmentativních způsobů komunikace.

Abstract:

The Thesis deals with the analysis of the possibilities of using systems of the alternative and augmentative communication in the process of communication with people with multiple handicap in the Home for people with disabilities in the South Moravian region. The first chapter devotes to a definition of multiple handicap. There is characterized the mental impairnent, the autism spektrum disorders and the physical impairment in the particular parts. The second chapter deals with the symptomatic speech disorders by the particular types of disability and by specific of communication by people with multiple handicap. The third chapter is devoted to systems of alternative and augmentative communication. It defines the terms, characterizes particular systems and aids and their use in comumunication with people with multiple handicap. There is covered the research itself which was made in the Home for people with health disabilities in the last chapter. It monitors the changes in communication and behaviour of people with multiple handicap in using alternative and augmentative forms of communication.
