Mutual relations between families and clients living long-term in residential social services in the region of Trutnov

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se soustředí na problematiku vzájemných vztahů rodin a klientů, kteří žijí dlouhodobě v pobytových sociálních službách a do svých původních domovů dojíždějí v nárazových či pravidelných intervalech. Hlavním cílem práce je charakteristika pozitivních a negativních faktorů plynoucích z pobytů v rodinách. Teoretická část seznamuje čtenáře se stručnou definicí sociálních služeb s akcentem na služby pobytové, vztahy rodiny s handicapovaným členem a krátkodobé pobyty v rodinách. Dále se práce věnuje pozitivním i negativním vlivům, jež jsou obvykle nedílnou součástí těchto návštěv. Následuje kapitola, která se zabývá reakcemi na úmrtí v rodinách a procesem vyrovnávání se s touto skutečností. Poslední část teoretického oddílu pojednává o zaměstnancích v sociálních službách, od kterých rodiny často očekávají téměř nemožné. Praktická část se zaměřuje na výzkumné šetření formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s rodinnými příslušníky, jež představují primární podklad pro interpretaci hlavního cíle této práce.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the issue of mutual relations between families and clients who live in residential social services for a long time and commute to their original homes at intermittent or regular intervals. The main aim of the thesis is to characterize the positive and negative factors resulting from the stays in families. The theoretical part introduces the reader to a brief definition of social services with an emphasis on residential services, family relationships with the disabled member and short-term stays in families. In addition, the thesis discusses the positive and negative influences that are usually an integral part of these visits. This is followed by a chapter that examines the reactions to bereavement in families and the process of coping. The last part of the theoretical section discusses social service workers, from whom families often expect the almost impossible. The practical section focuses on research investigations in the form of semi-structured interviews with family members, which provide the primary basis for interpreting the main aim of this thesis.
