Hyperkinetic disorder, its psychopharmacological treatment and the development of drug abuse in children

Abstract:

The thesis deals with hyperkinetic disorder, its psychopharmacological treatment and the development of drug abuse in children. The main aim of this thesis is to examine the extent of impacts of hyperkinetic disorder in children in the area of drug abuse. The aim is to determine differences between children with and without hyperkinetic disorder in the use of cigarettes, alcohol, marijuana and hard drugs. The quantitative research was conducted on 60 respondents. The sample was divided into two groups. First group consisted of children diagnosed with hyperkinetic disorder (N=30) and control group consisted of children without this diagnosis (N=30). We used two questionnaires to obtain the data. The first was for children and it was focused on drug abuse itself. Second was for parents or the institution in which the child was placed and it was focused on diagnosis itself, the other psychiatric disorders and details about psychopharmacological treatment.

Abstract:

Témou diplomovej práce je hyperkinetická porucha, jej psychofarmakologická liečba a rozvoj drogového abúzu u detí. Práca si stanovila za cieľ preskúmať rozsah dopadov hyperkinetickej poruchy u detí v oblasti drogového abúzu. Výsledkom práce je zmapovanie rozdielov medzi deťmi s hyperkinetickou poruchou a bez nej a to v užívaní cigariet, alkoholu, marihuany a tvrdých drog. Kvantitatívny výskum bol uskutočnený na 60 respondentoch. Výskumná vzorka bola rozdelená do výskumného (N=30) a kontrolného (N=30) súboru. Výskumnú vzorku tvorili deti s diagnózou hyperkinetická porucha v anamnéze a kontrolnú deti bez tejto diagnózy. Respondenti sa pohybovali vo veku od 10 do 17 rokov. Metódou k získaniu dát boli dva dotazníky vlastnej konštrukcie. Prvý - určený respondentom, bol zameraný na drogový abúzus samotný. Druhý - určený rodičovi dieťaťa alebo inštitúcii, v ktorej bolo dieťa v danej dobe umiestnené, zisťoval údaje o diagnóze, o ďalších psychiatrických poruchách a o detailoch psychofarmakologickej liečby.
