Comparative analysis of current state support in 2020 applied to women on the labor market in the Czech republic and Sweden

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce je zpracování komparativní analýzy současných nástrojů, které jsou v České republice a Švédsku státem používány k podpoře při uplatnění žen na trhu práce po rodičovské dovolené. Důvodem pro komparaci státních systémů v oblasti rodinné politiky je potenciální inspirace České republiky ve Švédském modelu rodinné politiky, který často bývá používán jako vzor pro ostatní země. Teoretická část popisuje trh práce a současné postavení žen na trhu práce. Dále ve sledovaných státech blíže definuje rodinnou politiku a opatření používaná k podpoře matek při návratu na trh práce. Praktická část nejprve analyzuje vybrané ukazatele ovlivňující plynulý návrat žen na pracovní trh po rodičovské dovolené v obou zemích a následně je provedena komparace těchto ukazatelů. Součástí praktické části je zároveň dotazníkové šetření, jehož cílovou skupinou jsou ženy z České republiky na mateřské/rodičovské dovolené a ženy, které se již po rodičovské dovolené na trh práce vrátily. Dotazníkové šetření slouží jako doplňková výzkumná metoda k provedené komparativní analýze. Výsledkem diplomové práce je komparace jednotlivých přístupů ke zvolenému tématu ve sledovaných zemích s návrhem možných změn a doporučení v Českém systému inspirované Švédským modelem rodinné politiky.

Abstract:

The subject of the diploma thesis is the elaboration of a comparative analysis of current tools that are used by the state in the Czech Republic and Sweden for state support in the employment of women in the labor market after parental leave. The reason for comparing state systems in the field of family policy is the potential inspiration of the Czech Republic state social system in the Swedish model of family policy, which is often used as a model for other countries. The theoretical part describes the labor market and the current position of women in the labor market. Also, in the monitored countries, it describes in more detail the family policy and measures used to support mothers in returning to the labor market. The practical part first analyzes selected indicators influencing the smooth return of women to the labor market after parental leave in both countries and then a comparison of these indicators is made. The practical part also includes a questionnaire survey, the target group of which are women from the Czech Republic on maternity / parental leave and women who have already returned to the labor market after parental leave. The questionnaire survey serves as an additional research method to the performed comparative analysis. The result of the diploma thesis is a comparison of individual approaches to the selected topic in the monitored countries with a proposal for possible changes in the Czech system inspired by the Swedish model of family policy, which are presented at the end of the thesis.
