Monetary Crisis In Argentina And Its Impact On Foreign Relations - Case Study

Abstract:

The economic crisis of 2001 is one of many crisis that has occured in Argentina since its formation. Its individuality lays in the the involvement of International Monetar Fund in Argentina before the outbreak. The Argentine pople dealt with the crisis in their own fashion: they defaulted on public debt and were very strict with the negotiations with its creditors. They took an uncoventional approach and recovered from the crisis quite quickly. The main goal of the thesis is to see the impact the Argentine dealing with the crisis had on its foreign relations. It focuses on the relations with International Monetary Fund, its creditors and investors, and the United States of America.

Abstract:

Argentínska hospodárska kríza z roku 2001 je jedna z mnohých kríz, ktoré v krajine vypukli. Je však špecifická tým, že pred ňou v štáte pôsobil Medzinárodný menový fond a je mu pripisovaná časť viny na eskalácii krízy. Argentínci sa s krízou vysporiadali svojsky: vyhlásili moratórium na splácanie verejného dlhu a pri vyjednávaniach s veriteľmi boli veľmi nekompromisní. Zvolili vlastnú cestu a z hlbokej krízy sa spamätali pomerne rýchlo, čo zaskočilo celý svet. Hlavným cieľom práce je popísať, aký dopad malo uchopenie a vysporiadanie sa s touto krízou na vzťahy Argentíny so zahraničím. Zameriava sa na vzťahy s Medzinárodným menovým fondom, veriteľmi a investormi v krajine a Spojenými štátmi americkými.
