Communication of Paramedics in Specific Situations

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je komunikace zdravotnických záchranářů ve specifických situacích, se kterými se ve své klinické praxi mohou setkat. V teoretické části je popisována podrobně komunikace, její dělení a funkce ve zdravotnictví. V této části se práce zabývá rovněž problémy komunikace v přednemocniční neodkladné péči jak mezi záchranářem/sestrou urgentního příjmu a pacientem, tak mezi jednotlivými členy zdravotnického týmu. Další kapitola je zaměřena na specifické situace, jako je například komunikace s agresivním pacientem nebo pacientem s psychotickými stavy. Poslední kapitola pojednává o komunikačních bariérách a prevenci jejich vzniku. Praktická část byla realizována kvantitativním šetřením. Cílem dotazníkového šetření bylo zjistit, jaká je domnělá profesní připravenost oslovených zdravotnických záchranářů/sester s ARIP ve Zdravotnické záchranné službě a Fakultní nemocnici Lochotín v Západočeském kraji pro komunikaci ve specifických situacích, rovněž vliv těchto specifických situací na jejich psychiku a zda mají potřebu dalšího vzdělávání v dané oblasti. Průzkumné šetření prokázalo dobrou domnělou profesní připravenost většiny z 86 respondentů a rovněž nejistotu v určitých specifických situacích, která má vliv nejen na jejich psychiku, ale i potřebu se dále v dané oblasti vzdělávat.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis topic is the communication in specific situations of the pre-hospital urgent care and the perceived preparedness of the surveyed paramedics/nurses for these specific situations they may encounter in their clinical practice. The theoretical part describes communication, its division, and its function in healthcare. In this part, the thesis also reflects on the communication problems between the paramedic and the patient and between the individual members of the healthcare team. The next chapter focuses on specific situations, such as communication with an aggressive patient or a patient with psychotic conditions. The last chapter deals with communication barriers and their prevention. The practical part was carried out by quantitative investigation. The aim of the questionnaire survey was to find out what is the perceived professional preparedness of the interviewed paramedics/nurses with ARIP in the Medical Rescue Service and Lochotín University Hospital in the West Bohemia Region for communication in specific situations, also the influence of these specific situations on their psyche and whether they have a need for further training in this area. The survey showed good perceived professional preparedness of the majority of the 86 respondents, as well as uncertainty in certain specific situations, which affects not only their psyche, but also their need for further education in this area.
