Ecological Knowledge of Children in Kindergarten

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce zkoumá úroveň ekologických znalostí dětí ve třech typech mateřských škol. Zkoumaný vzorek představuje celkem 75 dětí ve věku čtyř až šesti let. V teoretické části práce jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy senzitivita, environmentální výchova, ekologie, životní prostředí, cíle a výstupy environmentální výchovy v RVP PV, metody a prostředky pro rozvoj environmentální senzitivity v MŠ. V praktické části jsme zkoumali schopnost přiřadit správné živočichy k jednotlivým biotopům běžným pro naši republiku. Zaměřili jsme se na les, rybník, potok, pole a statek. Mateřské školy jsme vyhodnotili jednotlivě. Z výsledků je patrné, zda a jak ovlivňuje prostředí školy znalosti dětí. Hypotéza byla taková, že prostředí, ve kterém se škola nachází, nemusí mít nutně vliv na znalost životního prostředí. V závěru navrhujeme opatření pro zlepšení environmentální senzitivity a lepší získání a prohloubení poznatků dětí.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis examines the level of ecological knowledge of children from three various types of maternity schools. The examined sample takes 75 children in the age from 4 to 6 years, maximum 7 years. In theoretical part of the thesis there are explained basic concepts like sensitivity, enviromental education, ecology, enviroment, what are the purposes and goals of the enviromental education in the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education, methods and means for an advancement of the enviromental sensitivity in maternity schools. After in the practical part we have investigated the ability to assign animals into particular biotopes very common in our country. We have concentrated us on biotopes like forest, lake, brook, field and farm. Maternity schools were evaluated particularly and after compared to each other. From the results we can see if the children's knowledge is involved by surroundings in the maternity school and how it is involved. The hypothesis was that the surrounding where the maternity school takes place is not fundamentally involving the subject of enviromental knowledge. In the conclusion we suggest remedies for an improvement of the enviromental sensitivity and also for the improvement of children's knowledge and findings.
