Latent crime and its causes

Abstract:

Diplomová práce (dále jen „práce“) má ambici formou teoretického či empirického vhledu objasnit a demonstrovat problematiku latentní kriminality. Je neoddiskutovatelným faktem, že tzv. „latentní“ kriminalita tvoří významnou část celkové kriminality a její poznání je proto velmi důležité k poznání celkové kriminality. Z pohledu kriminologického (fenomenologického) je poznání celkové kriminality, tj. jejího stavu, struktury a dynamiky velmi důležité. Má-li společnost přijímat odpovídající preventivní a represivní opatření, která by měla kriminalitu ovlivnit, tak bez znalosti latentní potažmo celkové kriminality je toto téměř nemyslitelné. Smyslem práce je objasnit možnosti poznání příčin a podmínek latentní kriminality a zjistit, proč tyto možnosti jsou značně omezeny.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis (hereinafter referred to as the "thesis") aims to clarify and demonstrate the issue of latent criminality in the form of theoretical or empirical insight. It is an indisputable fact that the so-called "latent" criminality constitutes a significant part of the total criminality and its knowledge is therefore very important to the knowledge of the total criminality. From a criminological (phenomenological) point of view, knowledge of overall crime, i.e. its state, structure and dynamics, is very important. If society is to adopt appropriate preventive and punitive measures that should affect crime, then without knowledge of latent and therefore overall crime, this is almost unthinkable. The purpose of the work is to clarify the possibilities of knowing the causes and conditions of latent criminality and to find out why these possibilities are considerably limited.
