The role of polish tourists in tourism in the Jeseník region

Abstract:

Diplomová práce poskytuje komplexní pohled na problematiku přeshraničního cestovního ruchu v okrese Jeseník se zaměřením na příchozí polské turisty. Praktická část je tematicky rozdělena do tří kapitol. První z nich poskytuje detailní charakteristiku polské turistické klientely, druhá zkoumá práci jesenického cestovního ruchu se zahraničními turisty a třetí rozebírá význam přeshraničního turismu pro rozvoj cestovního ruchu okresu Jeseník. Výzkum se primárně opírá o dotazníkové šetření s polskými turisty, to je navíc doplněno o několik semistrukturovaných rozhovorů se zástupci jesenického sektoru cestovního ruchu. Polský turistický trh představuje pro modelové území, především díky jeho příhraniční poloze, velice důležitý prvek rozvoje. Zásadní motivací k příchodu je přírodní a kulturně-historický potenciál, a to jak v obecné rovině, tak na příkladu konkrétních atraktivit. Naproti tomu byly zjištěny nedostatky ve špatné propagaci stávající nabídky cestovního ruchu za státní hranicí. Za předpokladu efektivněji mířené reklamy na polské obyvatele lze do budoucna očekávat výraznější závislost okresu Jeseník na zahraničních příchodech.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis provides a comprehensive view of the cross-border tourism in the Jeseník district with a focus on incoming Polish tourists. The practical part is thematically divided into three chapters. The first one provides a detailed characteristic of the Polish tourist clientele, the second one examines the work of Jeseník tourism with foreign tourists and the third one analyses the importance of cross-border tourism for the development of tourism in the Jeseník district. The research is primarily based on a questionnaire survey with Polish tourists; this is additionally supplemented by several semi-structured interviews with representatives of the Jeseník tourism sector. The Polish tourist market represents a very important element of development for the model area, especially due to its border location. A fundamental motivation for arrival is the natural and cultural-historical potential, both in general terms and on the example of specific attractions. On the other hand, weaknesses were identified in the poor promotion of the existing tourism offer across the border. Assuming a more effective targeting of advertising to the Polish population, a stronger dependence of the Jeseník District on foreign arrivals can be expected in the future.
