Práce se zabývá možnostmi, nástroji a technikami strojového učení (machine learning, ML), které lze využít pro modelování a predikci tržního rizika. Práce zprvu pojednává o koncepci tržního rizika a jeho způsobech vyjádření. Tržní riziko je vnímáno jako variabilita časové řady a lze jej tedy v této práci považovat za synonymum pro volatilitu.
