The impact of fountains on the life satisfaction of people in Ústí nad Labem

Abstract:

Cílem mé bakalářské práce je určit, v jaké míře a zdali vůbec kašny ovlivňují životní spokojenost lidí ve městě Ústí nad Labem. Za účelem dosažení stanoveného cíle proběhl v letech 2019 a 2020 experiment v podobě randomizovaného kontrolovaného testu, jehož součástí byl sběr dat. Získaný datový soubor byl vyhodnocen pomocí statistických testů. Výsledky u dílčích vzorků dat potvrdily, že kašny pozitivně ovlivňují životní spokojenost a udávané zdraví lidí. Zjištěný vliv je poměrně malý, bylo však identifikováno několik aspektů, jejichž další výzkum může přispět k efektivnímu plánování městského prostředí a finančním úsporám. Má práce tak poskytuje hlubší porozumění problematice a odrazový můstek pro další výzkum

Abstract:

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to determine to what extent and whether fountains affect the life satisfaction of people in the Ústí nad Labem. In order to achieve the set qoal, an experiment in the form of a randomized controlled test, which included data collection, was conducted in 2019 and 2020. The obtained data set was evaluated using statistical tests. The results of the sub-samples of data confirmed that the fountains have a positive effect on life satisfaction and reported human health. The observed impact is relatively small, but several aspects have been identified and their further research can contribute to effective urban planning and financial savings. My work therefore provides a deeper understanding of the issue and a stepping stone for further research.
