Nursing Process in Care of a Child with Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract:

Cílem předložené bakalářské práce s názvem Ošetřovatelský proces v péči o dítě s diabetem mellitem je vypracování názorného plánu ošetřovatelské péče vycházejícího z ošetřovatelských diagnóz NANDA - International Taxanomie II, které se vztahují k potřebám hospitalizovaného dítěte s diagnózou diabetes mellitus. Předložená bakalářská práce obsahuje teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část je rozdělena na dvě kapitoly. První kapitola je zaměřena na onemocnění diabetes mellitus. Zabývá se klasifikací diabetu a dále diagnostikou, farmakologickou a nefarmakologickou léčbou diabetu mellitu I. typu. Druhá kapitola popisuje potřeby hospitalizovaných dětí a rolí sestry v péči o dítě s diabetem mellitem. V praktické části byl vytvořen plán ošetřovatelské péče vycházející z ošetřovatelských diagnóz NANDA - International Taxanomie II pro konkrétní pediatrickou pacientku s nově diagnostikovaným diabetem mellietem I. typu. Po dobu hospitalizace na JIP bylo u pacientky stanoveno 10 aktuálních a 4 potencionální ošetřovatelské diagnózy dle NANDA International Taxanomie II. Na standardním oddělení byly stanoveny 4 aktuální a 1 potencionální ošetřovatelská diagnóza. Na základě stanovených ošetřovatelských diagnóz byly vymezeny cíle ošetřovatelské péče, popsány ošetřovatelské intervence, realizace ošetřovatelské péče a následně byly cíle vyhodnoceny.

Abstract:

The objective of this bachelor thesis called "The nursing process in caring for a child patient suffering from diabetes mellitus" is an elaboration of an illustrative nursing plan issued of the nursing diagnoses NANDA - International Taxonomy II. The purpose of the plan applies to the needs of a hospitalized child diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. This bachelor thesis consists of two parts: a theoretical and a practical part, furthermore, the theoretical section is divided into two chapters. The first chapter focuses on the disease diabetes mellitus. Its subsequent sections deal with the classification of a diabetes, its diagnostics, and pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatment of the diabetes mellitus of the I. type. The second chapter describes the needs of hospitalized children and the role of a nurse in caring for a child suffering from the diabetes mellitus. In the practical part the plan of a nursing care is issued of the nursing diagnoses NANDA - International Taxonomy II for a specific paediatric female patient with newly diagnosed diabetes mellitus of the I. type. During the period of a hospitalization in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), there were 10 actual and 4 potential nursing diagnoses stated in the case of the female patient accordingly to the NANDA - International Taxonomy II. In the standard department, 4 actual and 1 potential nursing diagnoses were stated. Based on the stated nursing diagnoses, goals were defined for proper nursing care. The goals were derived from described nursing interventions and realizations of the nursing care, and the goals were subsequently evaluated using the aforementioned framework.
