Risk management in selected company

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to characterize the role of the risk management as a part of a company management, to analyze potential risks in the selected company and to draft possibilities for the risks elimination. In the first chapter the theory of the risk management is described as a part of a company management. We deal with the term “risk” along with its resources and nature. Part of this chapter and field of study is the overall risk management process that has been defined step by step, as then used in the analytical part. As we consider the risk analysis as the key one for the process, we therefore classify the risk analysis and its relations more accurately. We also identify the next steps of the risk management, methods used as well as the objectives of the risk management. Topic of the second chapter is the risk as a source of a potential crisis. Besides the coherence between risk and crisis theory, we present the crisis management and planning together with the phases of the crisis and the crisis management. The chapter is concluded by a description of managing the crisis situations. In the third chapter we analyze risks in the selected company. After the company introduction for better understanding of the company’s scope, we describe the methodology and procedures that we have applied for the risk management in the company. After the identification and the risk analysis, we consequently try to profile possibilities of the risks elimination. This thesis is conceived as a theoretical and practical study, in which the theoretical knowledge is applied for the process of the risk management in the selected company.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je charakterizovať úlohu riadenia rizík v podniku ako súčasti manažmentu, analyzovať potenciálne riziká vo vybranom podniku a načrtnúť možnosti ich eliminácie. V prvej časti práce teoreticky popisujeme riadenie rizík ako súčasť manažmentu podniku. Rozoberáme pojem „riziko“ spolu s jeho zdrojmi a povahou. Súčasťou tejto kapitoly a problematiky je aj celkový proces riadenia rizík po jednotlivých krokoch tak, ako sa mu neskôr venujeme v analytickej časti. Keďže analýzu rizík môžeme považovať za kľúčovú, bližšie si charakterizujeme práve analýzu rizík a vzťahy v nej. Ďalej definujeme kroky riadenia rizík, používané metódy ako aj cieľ riadenia rizík. Témou druhej časti je riziko ako zdroj potenciálnej krízy. Okrem spojitosti medzi rizikom a krízou si teoreticky predstavíme krízové riadenie a plánovanie, spolu s fázami krízy a krízového manažmentu. Kapitolu uzavrieme popisom zvládnutia krízových situácií. Tretiu časť tvorí analýza rizík vo vybranom podniku. Po úvodnom predstavení podniku, pre priblíženie charakteru spoločnosti, popisujeme metodiku a postupy, ktoré sme si zvolili pri aplikovaní riadenia rizík v danej spoločnosti. Po identifikovaní a analýze rizík v podniku sa snažíme načrtnúť možnosti eliminácie rizík. Práca je koncipovaná ako teoreticko-praktická štúdia, kde na základe teoretických poznatkov aplikujeme proces riadenia rizík na konkrétny podnik.
