Analysis of the needs of persons serving a prison sentence and their families in the city of Ostrava

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou osob propuštěných z výkonu trestu odnětí svobody a jejich rodinných příslušníků. Cílem práce je zmapovat potřeby u cílové skupiny osob propuštěných z výkonu trestu a jejich rodin. Teoretická část diplomové práce se věnuje lidským potřebám, jejím definicím, klasifikaci, zátěžovým situacím spojenými s uspokojováním potřeb u osob, které se dopustili kriminálního jednání. Práce se dále zaměřuje na výkon trestu odnětí svobody, vymezením trestu a jeho funkcím, vybraným programům zacházení patřící mezi resocializační nástroje. Dále je pojednáváno o možnostech pomoci lidem propuštěným z výkonu trestu a jejich rodinám na příkladu vybraných sociálních služeb. Empirická část práce je realizovaná metodou kvalitativního výzkumu prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. V závěrečné diskuzi práce jsou shrnuty poznatky z provedeného výzkumného šetření.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of persons released from imprisonment and their family members. The aim of this work is to map the needs of persons serving a prison sentence and their families. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with human needs, its definitions, classification, stressful situations associated with meeting the needs of people who have committed criminal acts. The work also focuses on the execution of imprisonment, the definition of punishment and its functions, selected treatment programs belonging to the resocialization tools. Furthermore, the possibilities of helping people released from prison and their families on the example of selected social services are discussed. The empirical part of the work is realized by the method of qualitative research through semi-structured interviews. The final discussion of the thesis summarizes the findings of the research.
