A view of the role of a child in history and present

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá měnícími se rolemi dítěte od středověku do současnosti. Cílem bylo zmapovat dané proměny, uvést čtenáře do kontextu doby a poskytnout komplexní pohled na celkovou problematiku vnímání dětství, a tedy i transformací dětských rolí. Teoretickou část, v níž jsme čerpali zejména z odborné literatury zaměřující se na historii dětí a dětství, jsme nakonec porovnali s částí praktickou, v níž byly pro získání informací o výchově a dětství využity řízené rozhovory s jedenácti respondenty ze čtyř rodin, které jsou představiteli generací Baby Boomers, X, Y, a Z. Zároveň nám ale i předložili svědectví o Tiché a Alfa generaci. Výzkum v praktické části tak sloužil k podání uceleného obrazu o proměňujících se rolích dítěte v průběhu staletími.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the changing roles of the child from the Middle Ages to the present. The goal was to explore the changes, to put the readers into the context of time and to provide a complex view of the overall issue of childhood perception and the transformation of children's roles. In the theoretical part we drew mainly from professional literature focusing on the history of children and childhood. For the practical part we have obtained information about education and childhood from controlled interviews with eleven respondents from four families, who are representatives of the generations Baby Boomers, X, Y, and Z. They also told us about Silent and Alpha Generation. Then we compared both parts. The research in the practical part served to show a integrated picture of the changing roles of the child over the centuries.
