Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Developing reflective competency in ELTE“ se zabývá reflexí jako součástí vzdělávání učitelů. Autor se zaměřuje na skupinu studentů lektorství anglického jazyka, kteří studují ve 3. ročníku kombinované formě bakalářského programu Lektorství cizího jazyka - anglický jazyk na Katedře anglického jazyka a literatury na Pedagogické fakultě Masarykovy univerzity. V teoretické části práce se autor věnuje reflektivnímu učení a vyučování. Cílem praktické části je představit hlavní koncepty reflektivního uvažování, reflektivního vyučování, učení zážitkem a reflexi. Dále autor popisuje reflektivní nástroje, které mohou být využity při vzdělávání budoucích učitelů. V praktické části autor představuje a popisuje reflektivní nástroje, které byly představeny této skupině studentů kombinované formy bakalářského programu Lektorství cizího jazyka - anglický jazyk na Katedře anglického jazyka a literatury na Pedagogické fakultě Masarykovy univerzity. Dále je provedeno dotazníkové šetření týkající se vzdělávání učitelů s důrazem na reflexi mezi vyučujícími a studenty. Cílem dotazníkového šetření bylo zjistit, zda studenti považují představené nástroje reflexe jako prostředek rozvoje jejich reflektivních kompetencí. Na základě výsledků šetření autor popisuje nástroje, které studenti vnímali jako efektivní. Dále se autor zaměřuje na oblast, kterou studenti označili jako méně efektivní. Závěrem autor navrhuje oblasti a kroky k možnému zlepšení vnímání a využití reflektivních nástrojů.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis “Developing reflective competency in ELTE“ deals with reflection as a part of teacher education. The author focuses on one cohort of the student teachers of English who study in the third year of the combined form of the Teacher Training in Foreign Languages programme at the Department of the English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University. The work is based on theoretical background in reflective learning and teaching. The theoretical part aims to present the key concepts of reflection, reflective teaching, experiential learning and reflection. Furthermore, the author describes reflective tools that can be used in teacher education. The practical part introduces and describes the reflective methods student teachers are introduced to in the combined form of the three year Teacher Training in Foreign Languages programme at the Department of the English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University. Additionally, a survey regarding the teacher education with the emphasis on reflection is carried out among the students and teachers. The aim of the survey is to explore whether the students perceive the reflective methods offered by the Department of the English Language and Literature helped them in developing their reflective competences. Based on the outcomes of the survey, the author describes what reflective tools are perceived as effective by the students. Further, the author focuses on areas identified as less effective. Finally, the author suggests possible areas of improvement.
