Elections to the Ústí nad Labem Region 2016: Socio-economic analysis of the electoral district in terms of electoral geography

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá výsledky voleb do zastupitelstva Ústeckého kraje v roce 2016. První část práce popisuje metody analýzy volebních výsledků, které jsou v analytické části práce využity k interpretaci volebních zisků u vybraných politických subjektů, a to s přihlédnutím na proměny jejich volební podpory ve sledovaném 2012 2016. Druhá část práce je věnována socioekonomické analýze Ústeckého kraje, která je zaměřena na oblast vývoje počtu obyvatel, podobu sídelní a organizační struktury, vývoj nezaměstnanost a úroveň kriminality - zájem je soustředěn především na zohlednění regionálních disparit a rozličnost Ústeckého kraje. Třetí část práce je zaměřena na samotnou analýzu volebních výsledků na úrovni správních obvodů obcí s rozšířenou působností, přičemž je charakterizováno zejména umístění významných center volební podpory u vybraných politických subjektů, ve kterých je zároveň popsán i vývoj volebních zisků v období 2012 -2016, s přihlédnutím na teritoriální proměnu, stabilitu a variabilitu voličské podpory. Závěrečné zhodnocení nabízí komparaci získaných dat, a to ve srovnání regionálních disparit s analyzovanými volebními výsledky u jednotlivých stran a hnutí - výsledkem je zjištění, poukazující na pokles podpory u regionálních hnutí, převážné stagnaci u tradičních politických stran a naopak vznik nového dominantního politického subjektu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the results of elections to the Ústí nad Labem Region in 2016. The first part describes methods of analysis of election results, which are used in the analytical part of the thesis to interpret election gains in selected political subjects, taking into account changes in their electoral support in the monitored 2012-2016. The second part is devoted to the socio-economic analysis of the Ústí nad Labem Region, which focuses on the area of population development, the form of the settlement and organizational structure, the development of unemployment and the level of crime - the focus is mainly on taking into account the regional disparities and the diversity of the Ústí region. The third part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of the election results at the level of the administrative districts of municipalities with extended competence. It is characterized in particular by the location of significant electoral support centers in selected political entities, which also describe the development of election gains in the period 2012-2016, taking into account on the territorial transformation, stability and variability of electoral support. The final evaluation provides a comparison of the obtained data, comparing the regional disparities with the analyzed electoral results of individual parties and movements - the result is a finding which is pointing to a decrease of support for regional movements, a major stagnation in traditional political parties and the formation of new dominant political entity.
