Medzi najdôležitejšie obchody a operácie, ktoré banka vykonáva patrí poskytovanie bankových úverov. Z hľadiska banky to znamená, poskytovanie peňažných prostriedkov svojím klientom. V prípade, že právnická osoba alebo fyzická nemá dostatok peňazí za účelom napr. zaplatenia pohľadávok, využívajú služby banky t.j. poskytovanie úverov.
