Abstract:

Tato absolventská práce se zabývá interkulturními kompetencemi sociálních pracovníků v organizaci Člověk v tísni v Přerově v komunikaci s romskou menšinou v přerovských sociálně vyloučených lokalitách. Každý sociální pracovník by v práci s romskou menšinou měl být interkulturně kompetentní a ovládat komunikaci s nimi, orientovat se ve specificích komunikace, efektivně překonávat komunikační bariéry, a umět řešit interkulturní situace. Cílem této práce je proto zjistit, jak přerovští sociální pracovníci z organizace Člověk v Tísni, kteří se dennodenně setkávají s romskými klienty v rámci sociální práce, reagují na kulturní odlišnosti v práci s romskou menšinou, jaké nejčastější bariéry v komunikaci s romskou menšinou sociální pracovníci pozorují, jaká jsou komunikační specifika v sociální práci s touto cílovou skupinou, a také jaký posun v interkulturních kompetencích vnímají sociální pracovníci v práci s romskou menšinou v Přerově od začátku jejich kariéry. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá přehledem o původu a historii Romů, o romské kultuře, zejména v oblastech jazyka, hudby, literatury a náboženství. Dále práce představuje téma sociálního vyloučení, sociálně vyloučených lokalit, problematika sociálního vyloučení Romů a sociální práce s touto cílovou skupinou, následně představení organizace Člověk v tísni a jeho působnosti v Přerově. Poslední kapitola teoretické části se zabývá interkulturními kompetencemi, charakterizuje interkulturní kompetence, a poté se soustředí na pojmy související s tímto tématem, což jsou interkulturní citlivost, behaviorální, kognitivní a afektivní kompetence, bariéry v interkulturní komunikaci, nebo vzdělávání v interkulturních kompetencích. Praktická část se zabývá výzkumem, jehož cílem je zmapovat specifika v komunikaci s romskou menšinou v sociálně vyloučených lokalitách v Přerově, reakce sociálních pracovníků na kulturní odlišnosti, snaží se zjistit, jaké nejčastější bariéry se v komunikaci mezi sociálním pracovníkem z Člověka v tísni a romskými klienty z tamní sociálně vyloučené lokality vyskytují, a jak nakonec, jaký posun v těchto kompetencích sociální pracovníci vnímají.

Abstract:

This graduation thesis deals with the intercultural competences of social workers in the organization People in Need in Přerov in the communication with the Roma minority in socially excluded localities in Přerov. Every social worker should be interculturally competent in working with the Roma minority and should be able to communicate with the members of this minority, be oriented in the specifics of communication, and to overcome communication barriers, and be able to deal with intercultural situations. Therefore, the aim of this study is to find out how social workers in the organization People in Need in Přerov, who daily meet with Roma clients in the framework of social work, react to cultural differences in working with the Roma minority, what the most common barriers in communication with the Roma minority are that the social workers observe, what the specifics of communication in social work with this target group are, and also what shift in their intercultural competence social workers perceive in work with the Roma minority in Přerov since the beginning of their career. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with an overview of the origins and history of the Roma people, the Roma culture, especially in the areas of language, music, literature and religion. Furthermore, the thesis introduces the topic of social exclusion, socially excluded localities, problems of social exclusion of Roma and social work with this target group, followed by an introduction of the organisation People in Need and its activities in Přerov. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with intercultural competences, characterizing intercultural competences, and focusing on concepts related to this topic, such as intercultural sensitivity, behavioural, cognitive and affective competences, barriers in intercultural communication, or education in intercultural competences. The practical part deals with research, the aim of which is to map the specifics of communication with the Roma minority in socially excluded localities in Přerov, the reactions of social workers to cultural differences, and tries to find out what the most frequent barriers are in communication between social workers from People in Need and the Roma clients from that socially excluded locality, and finally, what shift in mastering these competences the social workers themselves perceive.
