Transition from Primary to Lower-Secondary School from the Point of Pupil´s View

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá pohled žáka při přechodu z 1. na 2. stupeň základní školy. Její teoretická část seznamuje čtenáře s českým školským systémem se zaměřením na základní vzdělávání a charakteristikou žáka při přechodu mezi středním a starším školním věkem pomocí dosavadní publikované odborné literatury. Empirická část diplomové práce je zaměřena na percepci žáků před a po přechodu mezi stupni základní školy ve spojitosti s takzvaným well-beingem. Sběr dat byl realizován za pomoci kvalitativního výzkumu, konkrétně za využití metod polostrukturovaného interview a obsahové analýzy žákovských zápisů. Zapojeno bylo 6 participantů ze Zlínského kraje ve školním roce 2022/23 i 2023/24. Důvodem pro zvolení tohoto tématu byl fakt, že poslední publikovaná literatura, která se výše zmíněné problematice věnovala, je z roku 2011 a od té doby nebyla zkoumaná. Znovuotevření tohoto tématu přineslo zjištění, že vnímání žáků přecházejících mezi stupni základní školy souvisí s působením vnějších a vnitřních faktorů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis examines the pupils' perspective on the transition from the primary to lower-secondary stage of education. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the reader to the Czech school system with a focus on primary education and the characteristics of the pupil during the transition between middle and upper school age using the existing published literature. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the pupils' perception before and after the transition between primary and lower-secondary school in connection with the so-called well-being. Data collection was carried out using qualitative research, specifically using semi-structured interview methods and content analysis of pupils' notes. The study involved six participants from the Zlin region across the school years 2022/23 and 2023/24. The reason for choosing this topic was that the last published literature dealing with the issue above dates back to 2011 and has not been examined since then. The reopening of this topic brought about the finding that the perception of pupils transitioning between school levels is related to the action to external and internal factors.
