Creation and subsequent optimization of website in the WordPress content management system

Abstract:

Jak již název napovídá, tématem této bakalářské práce je tvorba a optimalizace vybraných webových stránek v redakčním systému WordPress. Práce popisuje postup, metody a potřebné nástroje pro tvorbu moderního a responzivního webu, za pomoci využití redakčního systému WordPress. Dále se soustředí na následnou optimalizaci právě vytvořeného nebo staršího webu, pomocí vhodných měřících nástrojů, a vyřešení problémových oblastí, z hlediska zvýšení rychlosti a kvality webových stránek. Práce tak sleduje celý postup tvorby webových stránek, od základů UX a UI designu, vybrání vhodného webhostingu, instalací WordPressu, po samotné vytvoření stránek, jejich analýzy a optimalizace. Cílem práce je přinést čtenáři hlubší pochopení o fungování tvorby webových stránek v redakčním systému WordPress, kdy čtenář bude po přečtení této práce sám schopen rozlišovat moderní postupy tvorby webu, vybrat si poskytovatele hostingu a vhodný balíček, nainstalovat WordPress, postavit na něm webovou prezentaci a tu následně zanalyzovat a zoptimalizovat. S těmito body se pojí základní pochopení fungování internetu, kterého se práce dotýká napříč kapitolami, hostingových služeb, pochopení samotného principu fungování redakčních systémů a jejich využití. Přínosem pro čtenáře tak může být know-how, které je použitelné, ať je již čtenář na pozici studenta, který chce mít svůj vlastní blog či online portfolio, podnikatele, který si chce vytvořit svůj obchodní web, či ho vytvářet ostatním jakožto samostatně výdělečnou činnost. Své si najde i čtenář, zajímající se o rozdíl webu postaveného na redakčním systému a webu takzvaně ručně nakódovaném.

Abstract:

As the name suggests, the topic of this bachelor's thesis is the creation and optimization of selected website in the WordPress content management system. The thesis describes the procedure, methods and necessary tools for creating a modern and responsive website, using the content management system WordPress. It also focuses on the subsequent optimization of the newly created or older website, using appropriate measurement tools, and solving problem areas, in terms of increasing the speed and quality of the website. The thesis follows the whole process of creating websites, from the basics of UX and UI design, selecting the appropriate web hosting, WordPress installation, to the actual creation of the site, its analysis and optimization. The aim of the thesis is to bring the reader a deeper understanding of how web design works in the content management system WordPress, where the reader will be able to distinguish modern web design practices, choose a hosting provider and a suitable package, install WordPress, build a website and subsequently analyse and optimize it. These points are connected with a basic understanding of the functioning of the Internet, which the thesis touches on across chapters, hosting services, understanding the very principle of the functioning of content management systems and their use. The benefit for readers can be know-how that can be used, whether the reader is in the position of a student who wants to have his own blog or online portfolio, an entrepreneur who wants to create his own business website or create it for others as a self-employed activity. The reader will also find his own, if the reader is interested in the difference between a website built on a content management system and a so-called hand-coded website.
