Early childhood teachers beliefs about education of bilingual learners.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se bude zabývat postojem pedagogických pracovníků mateřských škol (dále MŠ) k edukaci dětí s odlišným mateřským jazykem. Teoretická část práce bude zaměřena na komunikaci obecně, bilingvismus, dále se bude věnovat vymezení základní terminologie a problematice dětí s odlišným mateřským jazykem (dále OMJ). Hlavním cílem výzkumného šetření v empirické části práce bude zjistit jaké jsou postoje pedagogických pracovníků MŠ k edukaci dětí s OMJ v Ústeckém kraji, Středočeském kraji a v Praze. Dílčím cílem bude zjistit jaká podpůrná opatření jsou při edukaci dětí s OMJ aplikována a najít výukové materiály, které jsou v MŠ v souvislosti s OMJ používány. Výzkumné šetření bude mít kvantitativní design a bude realizováno pomocí nástroje dotazníku. Osloveno bude 30 respondentů. Výzkumné závěru budou komparovány s vybranými zahraničními výzkumy. V závěru budou formulována doporučení využitelná pro speciálně pedagogickou praxi.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis will explore the beliefs held by preschool teachers regarding the education of dual language learners in kindergartens. The theoretical part will focus on communication in general, bilingualism, and the analysis of basic terminology in the field of education of children with Czech as a second language. The goal of the exploratory research will be to identify the beliefs of preschool teachers in the Ústí nad Labem region, Prague and the Středočeský region about the education of dual language learners in kindergartens. Another goal will be to discover what educational practices are employed, which methods are applied, and what resources are used to support the education of children with Czech as a second language in kindergartens. The study will employ a quantitative exploratory design, and survey data will be analyzed using frequency counts. Statistical analysis will be used to process the survey data. Thirty participants will be recruited to take part in the survey. The findings of the study will be compared to those of research carried out abroad. The findings of this study will result in implications for special education practices in kindergartens.
