Visual Arts in German as Foreign Language Lessons. Aesthetic Learning and its Applications in Foreign Language Teaching

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the teaching of visual arts and Austrian regional studies in GFL lessons through aesthetic learning. The theoretical part contained an overview of some key categories such as skills, social forms, teaching methods, regional studies, images in GFL lessons, curriculum documents, competences, cross-cutting issues, etc., which are important for the implementation of teaching through aesthetic learning. A total of eight worksheets were created within the framework of the aforementioned principles. Topics from the fields of history, culture, geography, migration, sociology, environmental protection, advertising and transport were selected for the presentation of Austrian regional studies through the visual arts. Most of the worksheets were planned for two or more teaching units and can be used in German lessons at level B1 and above. Six of the eight worksheets were used by the author in the second level [learners aged approx. 15 to 18] at the grammar school in Rokycany. With the help of the 'Design-Based-Research' method, the worksheets taught were revised and supplemented with a didactic commentary after implementation in the relevant class and self-reflection by the author, the feedback of pupils and the teacher, Ms Renata Wünschová.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá zprostředkováním výtvarného umění a rakouských reálií v hodinách němčiny jako cizího jazyka prostřednictvím estetického učení. Teoretická část obsahuje přehled některých klíčových kategorií, jako jsou jazykové dovednosti, organizační formy, metody výuky, reálie, obrazy v hodinách cizího jazyka, kurikulární dokumenty, klíčové kompetence, průřezová témata atd., které jsou stěžejní pro realizaci výuky prostřednictvím estetického učení. V rámci výše uvedených zásad bylo vytvořeno celkem osm pracovních listů. Pro zprostředkování rakouských reálií pomocí výtvarného umění byla vybrána témata z oblasti historie, kultury, geografie, migrace, sociologie, ochrany životního prostředí, reklamy a dopravy. Většina pracovních listů je naplánována na dvě a více vyučovacích hodin; lze je využít v hodinách němčiny na úrovni B1 a vyšší. Šest z osmi pracovních listů použila autorka práce na vyšším stupni gymnázia v Rokycanech. Metodou "Design-Based-Research" byly pracovní listy po realizaci v příslušné třídě a autorčině reflexi, zpětné vazbě přítomných žáků i učitelky Mgr. Renaty Wünschové přepracovány a doplněny didaktickým komentářem.
