The influence of dispositional hope on the process of bereavement

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku truchlení u pozůstalých osob a vliv dispoziční naděje, která je pojímána jako protektivní faktor proti rozvoji komplikovaného truchlení. Teoretická část je tvořena třemi kapitolami. V první kapitole se zaměříme na pojetí naděje především v kontextu kognitivní teorie naděje C. R. Snydera. Následně si představíme alternativní teorie naděje, zaměříme se zejména na optimismus v pojetí vybraných autorů. Další část je věnována procesu truchlení, který je přirozenou reakcí na ztrátu blízké osoby, ale také faktorům, které mohou vést k rozvoji komplikovaného truchlení a mohou mít dlouhodobý negativní vliv na psychické, fyzické i sociální zdraví. Poslední kapitola je věnována již uskutečněným výzkumům, které zkoumaly vztah naděje a truchlení. V empirické části této práce je hlavním cílem zjistit, jaký vliv má dispoziční naděje na proces truchlení u dospělé populace. Pro účely výzkumu jsou využity tyto metody - Škála dispoziční naděje pro dospělé a Inventář komplikovaného truchlení (ICG).

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the issue of mourning of survivors and influence of dispositional hope, which is considered a protective factor against the development of complicated grief. The theoretical part consists of three chapters. In the first chapter we focus on the concept of hope, especially in the context of the cognitive theory of hope by C. R. Snyder. Subsequently, we will introduce alternative theories of hope, focusing on optimism in the concept of selected authors. The next part is devoted to the proces of grieving, which is a natural response to the loss of love one, but also to factors that may lead to the developmment of complicated grief and may have a long-term negative impact on mental, physical and social health. The last chapter is devoted to already carried out researches tha examined the relationship of hope and mourning. In the empirical part of this work, the main goal is to find out what influence the dispositional hope has on the proces of mourning in the adult population. For the purposes of research, the following methods are used: Scale of dispositional hope and Inventory of Complicated Grief (ICG).
