Analysis of Health education in didactic apparatus of Primary school textbooks

Abstract:

Disertační práce se věnuje problematice vzdělávací oblasti výchovy ke zdraví a uplatnění holistického modelu zdraví v prezentaci učiva v učebnicích prvouky / našeho světa a přírodovědy na primárním stupni škol. Výchova ke zdraví zdraví je důležitou součástí výchovně vzdělávacího procesu, která se jako vzdělávací oblast etablovala díky zavedení kurikulárního dokumentu státní úrovně Standardu základního vzdělávání (1995). Stanovené cíle výchovy ke zdraví a její obsahové vymezené v kurikulárních dokumentech se promítlo do obsahové strukturace učebnic prvouky a přírodovědy, kde se tato vzdělávací oblast primárně vyskytuje. Cílem práce je prostřednictvím metody obsahové analýzy zjistit obsahovou strukturaci vzdělávací oblasti výchova ke zdraví prezentovanou v pěti ucelených učebnicových řadách tvořených z učebnic prvouky / našeho světa a přírodovědy určených pro žáky primární školy vydaných v různých nakladatelstvích a také zjistit, zda je v rámci výchovy ke zdraví uplatněno holistické pojetí zdraví. Předmětem analýzy bylo 3136 zkoumaných jednotek, které představoval didaktický aparát učebnic, kterým rozumíme celkovou a detailní stimulaci učebnic, tedy otázky, úkoly, podměty k zamyšlení, činnostní náměty, jež jsou v didaktickém aparátu prezentovány souběžně s učebním textem, jako otázka a úkol navozující dané téma. V teoretické části se pokoušíme o uchopení teoretických východisek výchovy ke zdraví zejména z pohledu zdravotního a kurikulárního kontextu, následně se koncentrujeme na metodologická východiska prezentovaného výzkumného šetření. Metodologická část předkládá výzkumný design práce stanovený na pomezí kvalitativního a kvantitativního výzkumného šetření, tvorbu a ověření původního kategoriálního systému. Za účelem kódování výzkumných dat byl vytvořen původní kategoriální systém, teoreticky ovlivněný holistickým modelem zdraví (dle Jensena, 1997 a Kirstena, 2009). Díky pěti navrženým dimenzím zohledňujícím holistický model zdraví (dimenze biologická, psychologická, sociální, ekologická a duchovní), které odpovídají na multidisciplinární povahu výchovy ke zdraví, jsme schopni teoreticky pojmout a následně kategorizovat všechny obsahové aspekty/struktury vyskytující se ve vzdělávací oblasti výchova ke zdraví, respektive v didaktickém aparátu učebnic primární školy. Z výsledků výzkumného šetření vyplývá výrazná nekonzistentnost v rozložení učiva ve vzdělávací oblasti výchova ke zdraví v rámci jednotlivých učebnicových řad. Obsahové strukturaci učiva chybí logická návaznost, propojenost, cyklické opakování a postupné nabývaní obsahu vzdělávání. Konkrétní tematické celky jsou distribuovány různě a v odlišném množství v jednotlivých učebnicových řadách, což dokládá nerovnoměrné zastoupení didaktického aparátu v jednotlivých oblastech podporujících holistické pojetí zdraví. Společným znakem všech učebnicových řad je vysoké zastoupení biologického kontextu zdraví. Co se týče podpory holistického pojetí zdraví, nejvíce se mu přibližuje pojetí výchovy ke zdraví prezentované v učebnicové řadě nakladatelství Fraus. Komparační šetření týkající se jednotlivých ročníků všech analyzovaných učebnicových řad poukázalo na skutečnost, že učebnice určené pro žáky 2. ročníků všech nakladatelství můžeme označit jako bio-sociální se snahou o eko-duchovní kontext. Ostatní ročníky učebnic jsou zaměřeny kontext zdraví bio-sociální, přičemž ryze biologické zaměření vzdělávání v oblasti zdraví je prezentováno ve 4. a 5. ročnících. Abstract:

The dissertation thesis addresses the problem of health education and the application of a holistic model of health in the presentation of the curriculum in elementary textbooks in primary schools. Health Education is an important part of the educational process, which has established itself as a training area through the introduction of state-level curriculum document Standard for Basic Education (1995). The aim of Health Education and its content defined in the curriculum is reflected in the structuring of the content of elementary science textbooks, where this educational area primarily occurs. The aim of thesie is, through the method of content analysis, determine the content of health education presented in five comprehensive textbook series. The textbooks series is valid elementary textbooks for pupils in primary education and they are issued by various publishing houses. The second aim of thesis is determine whether the holistic approach to health is applied in health education presented in elementary school textbook series. The object of the content analysis was 3136 research units, which represented a didactic apparatus of textbooks. We understand the term of didactic apparatus of textbooks the overall and detailed textbooks stimulation, ie questions, tasks, subject to ponder activity, ideas that are presented concurrently with the text, as a question and challenge inducing certain topic. In the theoretical part we try to describe the theoretical foundations of health education especially in terms of health and curricular context, then we concentrate on the methodological basis of the presented research. The methodological part presents the research design defined in the border between qualitative and quantitative research and development and validation of the original category system. In order research data coding we create the original category system, theoretically influenced by the holistic model of health (according to Jensen, 1997 and Kirsten, 2009). With five dimensions which taking into account the holistic model of health (the dimensions of biological, psychological, social, ecological and spiritual health) that correspond to the multidisciplinary nature of health education, we can theoretically contain and then categorize all aspects of content / structure occurring in the health education, respectively, in the didactic apparatus of primary school textbooks. The results of the survey shows a significant inconsistency in the distribution of educational curriculum in health education within each textbook series. Content structuring the curriculum lacks of coherence, connectedness, cyclic repetition and gradual acquisition of the curriculum. Specific thematic units are distributed in different ways and in different quantities in each textbook series, as evidenced by uneven representation of the didactic apparatus in various areas that support a holistic approach to health. A common feature of all textbook series is a high proportion of the biological context of health. As regards of support a holistic approach to health in textbook series, the most approach the concept of health education presented in the textbook publishing Fraus. Comparative investigation on the each grade of the analyzed textbooks like to point out that textbooks for pupils of 2nd grade of all publishers can be described as a bio-social with the effort of eco-spiritual context. Other grades (1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th) are geared context of bio-social health in textbooks, with focus purely on biological health education is presented in the 4th and 5th grades. The final chapter summarizes the benefits of work, we point out the pitfalls realized the research and propose some possibilities for further research.
