Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou „opětovných překladů“ a spolu s tím vlivu překladatelovi osobní ideologie na volbu překladatelské strategie. Práce si klade za cíl porovnat dva české překlady románu Velký Gatsby se zaměřením na styl autora a specifické kulturní prvky. The thesis explores the issue of retranslation and the influence of ideology on translation. It aims to compare the two Czech translations of The Great Gatsby focusing especially on the translator's style and the culture-specific elements.
