Czech Republic Position in Comparison With Selected EU Member States

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je věnována postavení České republiky ve srovnání s vybranými členskými státy Evropské unie. Práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních kapitol. První dvě kapitoly jsou zaměřeny na teorii a jsou zpracovány za pomoci odborné literatury a internetových zdrojů. Třetí a poslední část je praktická. Teoretická část je věnována analýze české ekonomiky za pomoci makroekonomických ukazatelů, zejména HDP, nezaměstnanost a inflace. Je zde také popsáno, jaký měl vstup do Evropské unie dopad na Českou republiku. Dále je tato část zaměřena na státy Visegrádské skupiny a to z hlediska historického, nikoli ekonomického, jako tomu je v části praktické. Praktická část je zaměřena na komparaci České republiky se státy Visegrádské skupiny, kam spadá kromě výše zmíněné České republiky Slovensko, Maďarsko a Polsko. Komparace je provedena opět pomocí makroekonomických ukazatelů, v tomto případě je to HDP, nezaměstnanost, inflace a platební vývoj bežného účtu. Cílem práce je na základě analýzy makroekonomických ukazatelů porovnat vývoj ekonomiky České republiky a států Visegradské skupiny v letech 2004 – 2012.

Abstract:

This thesis is devoted to the position of the Czech Republic compared to the selected Member States of the European Union. The thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first two deal with the theory and have been processed with the help of professional literature and internet sources. The third and the last part is rather practical. The theoretical part is devoted to an analysis of the Czech economy with the help of macroeconomic indicators such as GDP, unemployment, inflation and more. There is also described the what impact had the joining the European Union on the Czech republic. This part also focuses on the countries of the Visegrad Group just not from an economic perspective as it is in the practical part, but from a historical perspective. The practical part is focused on comparing the Czech Republic with the states from the Visegrad Group. In addition to the aforementioned Czech Republic this group includes Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. The comparison is again performed by using macroeconomic indicators, in this case it is GDP, unemployment, inflation and balance of payments current account of the country. The aim of the work is to compare the development of the Czech economy and the development of the countries of the Visegrad Group. The comparison is based on the analysis of macroeconomic indicators in in years 2004 – 2012.
