The relationship between family life and working career of manageresses

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vzájemnými vztahy mezi sférou rodiny a zaměstnání manažerek v závislosti na dostupnosti a využívání harmonizačních opatření v organizaci. Jejím cílem je zodpovědět hlavní výzkumnou otázku: „Jak se vzájemně ovlivňují práce manažerek a jejich rodinný život v závislosti na dostupnosti a využívání harmonizačních opatření v organizaci?“ V teoretické části práce je přiblížena problematika postavení žen na trhu práce, zvláště pak postavení a charakteristika žen v segmentu managementu. Dále se práce zabývá genderovým rozdělením rolí v rodině a dělbou neplacené práce a péče v rodině a jejich vlivem na sladění rodinného a pracovního života manažerek. V závěru teoretické části se práce zaměřuje na životní a harmonizační strategie manažerek. K naplnění výzkumného cíle práce byla zvolena kvalitativní výzkumná strategie, technikou sběru dat byl nekategorizovaný hloubkový rozhovor. V empirické části diplomové práce jsou interpretovány výsledky výzkumu vyplývající z provedené analýzy získaných dat. Diplomová práce dochází k závěru, že pracovní a rodinný život manažerek se do určité míry vzájemně ovlivňují v závislosti na dostupnosti a využívání opatření harmonizace práce a rodiny v organizaci. Vstřícnost zaměstnavatele v oblasti harmonizace práce a rodiny nemá rozhodující vliv na rodinné a pracovní strategie manažerek, ale dostupnost a možnost využívání harmonizačních opatření umožňuje manažerkám do jisté míry realizovat zamýšlené rodinné a pracovní strategie a dosahovat tak uspokojivé úrovně sladění obou životních sfér. Abstract:

This diploma thesis is concerned with the relationships between the sphere of work and the family of manageresses in dependence on the availability and exploitation of the harmonization measures in the organization. Its aim is to answer the main research question: "How the work of manageresses interacts with theirs family life in dependence on the availability and exploitation of the harmonization measures in the organization?" The theoretical part is focused on the status of women on the labor market, especially the status and characteristics of women in the management segment. The thesis deals with the gender division of family roles , the division of unpaid work, the family care and theirs influence on the reconciliation of family and work life of manageresses. At the end of the theoretical part are targeted the life strategies and the harmonization strategies of manageresses. To fulfill the aims of the research work the qualitative research strategy with uncategorized interview was chosen. The research results are interpreted in the empirical part of the thesis as resulting from the analysis of the data. The diploma thesis concludes that the work life and family life of manageresses interacts. The interaction depends on the availability and exploitation of the work-family harmonization measures in the organization. Helpfulness of employer in the area of harmonization between work and family doesn´t have a critical influence on the family and work strategies of manageresses, but the availability and exploitation of the harmonization measures allow in a certain manner the manageresses to realize the planned family and work strategies and achieve a favourable level of reconciliation of the both spheres of life.
