Analysis of Internal and External Communication in a Selected Hotels

Abstract:

Diplomová práce analyzuje interní a externí komunikaci dvou hotelů, Aria Hotel a hotel U Zlaté Studně neboli Golden Well Hotel, které jsem si vybrala k analyzování v mé práci. V práci je definována komunikace jako obecný pojem z pohledu více autorů, je popsána interní, externí, neverbální a masová komunikace, následně jsou popsány vybrané typy modelových komunikací, poté jsou popsány nástroje pro analýzu, jako je situační analýza, která je nezbytná pro vytvoření té správné firemní strategie, dále strategické priority vybraných hotelů, PEST analýza a produktová strategie, které jsou nedílnou součástí externí komunikace hotelu. Ve druhé části jsou charakterizovány oba vybrané hotely, jejich interní a externí komunikace, jsou popsány feedbacky obou hotelů, je zpracována statistika národností Aria Hotelu za rok 2013 a na závěr jsou shrnuty komunikační praktiky hotelů. Poté ještě následuje popsání jednotlivých měsíčních statistik zemí za rok 2013 a celková obsazenost v daných měsících pro Golden Well Hotel za rok 2012. Dále je popsána SWOT analýza obou hotelů, SWOT analýza interní a externí komunikace nejprve Aria Hotelu a poté Hotelu U Zlaté Studně, u kterých jsou hodnoceny pouze silné a slabé stránky daných komunikací. Následovat bude analýza komparace feedbacků Golden Well Hotelu za období 2011-2013. V závěru této části bude aplikována PEST analýza na oba hotely. V návrhové části budou popsána jednotlivá doporučení pro zlepšení a zefektivnění interní a externí komunikace pro vybrané hotely. Na závěr práce zhodnotím interní a externí komunikace obou vybraných hotelů a potvrdím či vyvrátím stanovený cíl práce a stanovené hypotézy.

Abstract:

This Master´s Dissertation analyzes the internal and external communication of two hotels, Aria Hotel and The Golden Well Hotel or Hotel U Zlaté Studně, which I chose to analyze in my thesis, communication is defined in generic terms from the perspective of multiple authors, as well as nonverbal, mass communication and selected models of communication are described. Later on the thesis characterizes the pyramid communication and periodization of human communication and types of interpersonal communication. In the second part both selected hotels are characterized in terms of their internal and external communications, feedback on both hotels is described and compiled statistics of nationalities that visited Aria Hotel in 2013 are provided. Later on it describes monthly statistics of different countries for the year 2013 and the total availability in the respective months for Golden Well Hotel in 2012. In the thesis detailed SWOT analysis is included, considering both internal and external factors of the analysis. Based on the analysis individual recommendations are provided in order to increase the effectiveness of internal and external communications for both hotels. In conclusion, the comparison of feedbacks on Golden Well Hotel in the period 2011-2013 are analyzed. In the conclusion part, recommendations for communication improvement and streamlining are provided for both hotels. In conclusion, internal and external communication of both selected hotels are evaluated and the stated objective of the thesis and set theory are proved or refute.
