The activities of the Congregation of Sisters in Mercy of the third order of St. Francis under auspices of the St. Family in the years 1918-1958

Anotace:

Diplomová práce pojednává o působení kongregace Milosrdných sester III. řádu sv. Františka pod ochranou Svaté Rodiny v českých zemích v letech 1886-1958. Tato kongregace je zaměřená na ošetřovatelství a její členky pracovaly v nemocnicích a ústavech. V meziválečném období dopracovala své stanovy, kterým se dostalo biskupského schválení. V době druhé světové války se zvýšila její ošetřovatelská aktivita. Při náletu na Brno byl poškozen kostel Sv. Rodiny a budovy jejího mateřince. Po roce 1948 byla její činnost omezována vládnoucím režimem, v roce 1955 byly řádové sestry vypovězeny z nemocnic. Součástí kongregačních aktivit byly také četné filiálky. Doba působení kongregace v Brně se uzavřela roku 1958, kdy přišla o svůj klášter. Tímto rokem také končí diplomová práce, která sleduje dobové události v kontextu dějin kongregace.

Abstract:

This thesis is about the activities of the Congregation of Sisters in Mercy of the 3rd order of St. Francis under auspices of the St. Family in the years 1886-1958. The mission of the congregation is the care and the health help to the patients. In the time between two world wars the congregation finished her constitutions. During the second world war there was a significant growth in the health treatment activity of the Congregation of Sisters in Mercy of the 3rd order of St. Francis under auspices of the St. Family. By the air bombshell attack at Brno the church of the St. Family and the buildings of the cloister was demaged. After year 1948 the activities of the congregation was restricted by governing regime, in the year 1955 the sisters of this congregation didn´t must work in the hospitals. In the year 1958 the cloister of the congregation was confiscated. The thesis is about the events in the years 1886-1958 and also about how the congregation reacted.
