Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou úzkosti z cizího jazyka mimo školní prostředí, zejména pak mluveným projevem v situacích jako je např. konverzace s osobou cizího původu na ulici, na pohovorech, ale i konverzace v anglickém jazyce před osobami blízkými. Cílem této práce je tedy posoudit, kolik mladých lidí ve věku 15–30 let trpí touto specifikou úzkostí a zdali jí vůbec trpí. Teoretická část se věnuje poznatkům ze studií zabývajících se problematikou cizojazyčné úzkosti. Nejprve se práce zaměřuje na charakteristiku úzkosti a typy úzkosti. Dále pak práce přechází k úzkosti z cizího jazyka, k faktorům, zdrojům a projevům ovlivňujících tuto úzkost, jak se úzkost z cizího jazyka měří a v neposlední řadě práce obsahuje i jistá doporučení, jak je možné tuto úzkost zmírnit. Praktická část je pak založena na dotazníkovém šetření a následném zpracování dat. Celková zjištění z teoretické a praktické části jsou porovnána a shrnuta v závěru práce.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis considers foreign language anxiety outside the school environment, focusing on spoken interaction in specific situations such as conversations with a person of foreign origin on the street, in interviews, but also speaking English in front of close people. This work aims to assess how many young people aged 15-30 may suffer from this specific anxiety and whether they suffer from it at all. The theoretical part addresses findings from studies dealing with the subject of foreign language anxiety. First, the work concerns characteristics of anxiety and types of anxiety. The thesis then progresses to a general acquaintance with foreign language anxiety, factors, sources, and manifestations influencing this anxiety, how is foreign language anxiety measured and finally, the work contains recommendations to alleviate this anxiety. The practical part is then based on a questionnaire survey and subsequent data processing. The overall findings from the theoretical and practical part are compared and summarized in the conclusion.
