Didactic game as a means to increase the motivation of pupils in science lessons

Abstract:

Motivace žáků je důležitým aspektem při výuce. Formuje nejen vztah žáků k danému předmětu, ale také ovlivňuje míru jejich aktivity, jakým způsobem se žáci zapojují do výuky a jaká je jejich schopnost udržet pozornost. Hlavním tématem diplomové práce jsou didaktické hry, které patří k aktivizujícím metodám, a tudíž lze předpokládat jejich pozitivní vliv na motivaci žáků. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, zda se tento předpoklad potvrdí či nikoliv. Teoretická část je rozdělena na tři základní kapitoly. V první kapitole si nejprve vymezíme pojem hra, klasifikace her a vývoj hry v životě dítěte. V druhé kapitole se zacílíme na didaktickou hru samotnou. Vysvětlíme si nejen pojem didaktická hra a klasifikaci didaktických her, ale také na co by se měl pedagog při přípravě zaměřit. Ve třetí a také poslední části si vymezíme pojem motivace, jaké máme druhy motivace a činitele, kteří ovlivňují úroveň motivace. V praktické části budeme zkoumat úroveň zvýšení motivace žáků 4. a 5. tříd ve výuce prostřednictvím didaktických her.

Abstract:

The motivation of pupils is an important aspect in teaching. It not only shapes pupils' relationship with the subject, but also affects their level of activity, how pupils engage in teaching and their ability to maintain their attention. The main thesis thesis theme is didactic games, which are among the activating methods and therefore can be assumed to have a positive effect on pupilmotivation. The thesis aims to determine whether or not this assumption is confirmed. The theoretical part is divided into three basic chapters. In the first chapter, we first define the concept of play, game classification and game development in a child's life. In the second chapter, we focus on the didactic game itself. We will explain not only the concept of didactic play and classification of didactic games, but also what the educator should focus on when preparing. In the third and also final part, we define the concept of motivation, what kinds of motivations and factors we have that influence the level of motivation. In the practical part, we will examine the level of increased motivation of 4th and 5th graders in teaching through didactic games.
