Development of the Business Environment in the Transportation Sector in the Context of the Economic Crisis

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá podnikatelským prostředím v odvětví autodopravy a zejména vývojem tohoto sektoru po propuknutí hospodářské krize v roce 2008. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda měla hospodářská krize negativní dopad na ekonomickou výkonnost sledovaného podniku. V první části je rozebírána hospodářská krize z hlediska jejího vzniku a následného globálního rozšíření. Je také popisována situace v České republice bezprostředně po vypuknutí krize. V druhé části se práce zabývá podnikatelským prostředím v České republice. Jsou tu vymezeny základní pojmy, členění podnikatelských subjektů a jsou popsány změny, které nastaly po vstupu do Evropské unie. Třetí část se zabývá situací v oboru autodopravy v České republice, kde je popsán dopad hospodářské krize na odvětví. Následující kapitola je věnována vybrané společnosti a její charakteristice. Finanční zdraví společnosti je hodnoceno pomocí různých finančních ukazatelů a jejich výsledky jsou zobrazeny v grafech a tabulkách. V závěru jsou shrnuty výsledky finanční analýzy a doporučení pro firmu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the business environment in the trucking industry and in particular the development of this sector after the outbreak of the economic crisis in 2008. The aim is to determine whether the economic crisis has had a negative impact on the economic performance of the examined enterprise. The first part examines the economic crisis in terms of its emergence and subsequent global expansion. It also describes the situation in the Czech Republic immediately after the outbreak of the crisis. The second part deals with the business environment in the Czech Republic. There are basic concepts, structuring business entities and description of changes that occurred after the accession into the European Union. The third part deals with the situation in the field of road transport in the Czech Republic, which describes the impact of the economic crisis on the industry. The following chapter is devoted to a particular company and its characteristics. The financial health of the company is evaluated using various financial indicators and the results are shown in graphs and tables. The conclusion summarizes the results of the financial analysis and recommendations for the company.
