The main goal of this master’s thesis is to give a thorough description of personal as well as professional life of patricius and Western Roman emperor Petronius Maximus. The thesis also focuses on his construction and legislative activities and determines how important was his role in the murders of emperor Valentinian III. and Roman military commander Flavius Aëtius.
