Abstract:
Předkládaná disertační práce zkoumá problematiku vyjadřování rodu v angličtině se zřetelem na rodové zařazení zvířat. Teoretická část popisuje historii rodu a jeho postavení v současné angličtině. Jádro práce tvoří analýza užití rodových markérů u zvířat, která je založena na hlavním a dvou dílčích korpusech. Práci doplňují přílohy.Abstract:
This dissertation aims to be a contribution to gender studies. It explores the problem of assigning gender to animal nouns. The theoretical background describes the history of gender and its position in present-day English.
