Abstract:

V průběhu evoluce si člověk vytvořil důležité okruhy chování, které mu dovolují čerpat z výhod, jaké přináší život ve společnosti. Přizpůsobuje se normám a kulturním zvyklostem society, ve které žije. Dovede rozeznat jednotlivé členy, odhadnout emoce a vcítit se, být nápomocný stejně tak, jako bránit své blízké před cizím ohrožením. Všechny tyto jevy mají společného jmenovatele a tím je oxytocin. Molekula o devíti aminokyselinách, byla dlouho známá pro svoje účinky v porodnictví, ale vhledem k poznatkům současné doby o vlivu neuropeptidu na průběh psychosociálních poruch, se současný výzkum směřuje právě sem. Mnoho vlastností, jako třeba ochota spolupracovat, důvěřovat nebo obětovat se jde v ruku v ruce s postavením jedince ve skupině. Oxytocin dokáže v jedinci vyvolat nebo naopak utišit emoce, vedoucí k jistým projevům chování a předznamenat postavení individua v hierarchickém žebříčku. Přestože se jedná jen o jednu malou molekulu, může v lidské společnosti sehrávat nezastupitelnou úlohu. Množství oxytocinu může být reflektováno dalším hormonem, progesteronem (Brown et al. 2009). Analýzou hierarchického postavení jedinců a stanovením hormonálních hladin lze zjistit, jak je chování vůči partnerovi podmíněno v závislosti na těchto dvou proměnných. Cílem této práce bylo analyzovat emoce jednotlivých osob při plnění jednoduchého úkolu v závislosti na jejich postavení v dominanční hierarchii pomocí programu Noldus FaceReader. Více submisivní muži se v průběhu pokusu častěji tvářili rozzlobeně. V dalších emocích a u žen však rozdíly nalezeny nebyly, a počet mužů zahrnutý do analýzy byl nízký. Muži se však tvářili rozzlobeněji i ve srovnání s ženami. Tyto jevy mohou mít evoluční i kulturní příčinu a budou předmětem dalšího výzkumu. Podařilo se prokázat, že analýza pomocí programu FaceReader byla funkční, neboť emoce měřené programem korelovaly s hladinami progesteronu. Program je však choulostivý k orientaci a pohybu respondentů. Je vhodnější pro sledování konkrétních úseků, kde je emoční projev očekáván, například po reakci na verbální projevy nebo při sledování videa, než pro analýzu delších záznamů, kde se vývoj situace stupňuje.

Abstract:

Important behaviour allowing us to reap the benefits of living in society has developed during the evolution of man. People adapt to the norms and cultural customs of societies they live in. All those phenomena as recognizing individual members, estimating emotions, emphatizing, being helpful and defending others have a common ancestor, oxytocin. Long known for its effect in obstetrics nine amino acid molecule is now studied in relation to psychological disorders. Many qualities such as the willingness to cooperate, to trust or to sacrifice go hand in hand with the position of the individual, leading to certain expressions of behaviour and determine the position of the individual in the dominance hierarchy. How can such a small molecule play such an important and irreplacable role in human society? The level of oxytocin may be reflected by another hormone, progesterone (Brown et al. 2009). By analyzing of the hierarchical position of individuals and determining hormonal levels is possible to find out how behavior towards partners is conditioned depending on these two variables. The aim of this work was to analyze emotions of the participants in a simple task depending on their position in the dominance hierarchy using FaceReader software (Noldus). The results are taht the more submissive men looked angry more often during the experiment. However, no differences were found in other emotions and in women and the number of men included in the analysis was low. Nevertheless, the men also looked more angry compared to the women. These phenomena can have both evolutionary and cultural causes and will be the subject of further research. FaceReader analysis proved to be functional as the emotions measured by the programme correlated with the progesterone levels. However, the programme is sensitive to the head orientation and movement of the respondents. It is more suitable for watching specific sections where emotional expressions are expected (e.g. watching a video, reaction to verbal expressions) than for analyzing longer recordings where the development of the situation escalates.
