Financial behavior of high school students

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou finanční gramotnosti u žáků střední odborné školy. V prvních třech kapitolách jsou uvedeny hlavní pojmy a oblasti, které souvisejí se zkoumaným tématem. Podána je definice finanční gramotnosti, přiblíženo je chování studentů středních škol ve světě financí, pojednáno je o výchově těchto žáků k finanční gramotnosti v rodinném i školním prostředí. Pozornost je detailněji věnována zavádění finanční gramotnosti do českého školství a současnému stavu výuky finanční gramotnosti na středních školách. V praktické části je popsán výzkum, jehož cílem bylo analyzovat obeznámenost studentů střední školy s problematikou finanční gramotnosti. Dílčím cílem bylo vytvořit a následně i realizovat vlastní výukový program, určený pro studenty středních odborných škol, v návaznosti na vyhodnocení výsledků výzkumu též formulovat soubor doporučení týkající se vzdělávání studentů středních škol v oblasti finanční gramotnosti. Výzkum byl koncipován jako smíšený. Studentům byl administrován dotazník vlastní konstrukce a realizována byla výuka finanční gramotnosti v rozsahu čtyřech vyučovacích hodin. Součástí práce je i doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of financial literacy in secondary school pupils. In the first three chapters, the main concepts and areas that are related to the topic are described. The definition of financial literacy is given, the behavior of secondary school students in the world of finance is discussed, the education of these pupils to financial literacy in the family and school environment is also discussed. Attention is paid in more detail to the introduction of financial literacy into the Czech education system and the current state of financial literacy teaching at secondary schools. In the practical part is described the research, whose aim was to analyze the knowledge of secondary school students with the issue of financial literacy. A partial goal was to create and subsequently implement an own educational program designed for secondary school students, and to formulate a set of recommendations regarding the education of secondary school students in the field of financial literacy following the evaluation of research results. The research was conceived as mixed. The students were administrated a questionnaire of their own design and the teaching of financial literacy was realized in the range of five lessons.
