Design and implementation of interface for monitoring Engine - component of the Perun system

Anotácia:

Systém Perun spravuje uživatelské identity, virtuální organizace a jejich přístup ke službám. Skládá se z několika komponent, mezi které se řadí také Perun Engine, který má na starost propagaci změn v systému Perun na jednotlivé stroje. Cílem této práce bylo navrhnout monitorovací rozhraní, které umožní přístup k informacím o vnitřních procesech Perun Engine, které jsou v původním návrhu neviditelné a nepřístupné. V práci byly řešeny otázky přístupu k informacím z externích zdrojů, které Perun Engine využívá. Dále byly v řešení uváženy návrhy na vhodnou organizaci těchto procesů v Perun Engine, aby bylo možné informace přehledně poskytnout. Hlavním přínosem této práce je přehlednost a větší dohled nad vnitřními procesy Perun Engine, což umožňuje např. snazší zachycení potencionálních chyb.

Abstract:

System Perun manages user identities, virtual organizations and their access to services. It consists of several components and one of them is called Perun Engine, which manages propagation of changes in Perun world to particular services. The aim of this thesis is to design and implement monitoring interface which will allow access to information about internal processes of Perun Engine. These processes are originally invisible and unaccessible. Monitoring component allows access to information from external sources, which Engine uses for process execution. There is also suitable organization of monitored internal processes so monitoring interface can provide information in understandable form. The main benefit of this thesis is a significant rise of information, which we can get from Engine. This makes Engine more synoptic and potential mistakes and errors in Engine could be caught more easily.
