Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na kulturně-historický kontext období druhé světové války ve Velké Británii. Zasazuje autora i literární dílo do příslušného literárního kontexu, analyzuje stav společnosti dané doby se zaměřením na jednotlivé společenské vrsty a zkoumá předválečné přípravy na domácí frontě i válku samotnou a její dopad na britskou společnost.
