This Diploma Thesis deals with English as a lingua franca in the English textbooks for Upper Secondary Schools. The main goal of the thesis is to describe how selected parts of several popular English textbooks reflect the global character of English in their exercises and what examples of English as a lingua franca these textbooks present.
