Gambling behaviors among secondary vocational school students

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je hraní hazardních her u středoškolských žáků. Cílem práce je zjisti, zda žáci na vybrané střední odborné škole hrají hazardní hry, jakými způsoby a zda jsou v rámci prevence poučeni o rizicích spojených s hraním hazardních her.Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Cílem teoretické části je charakterizovat pojem hazardní hra ve spojitosti se žáky střední školy a poukázat na možná rizika související s tímto patologickým jevem. V závěru teoretické části bude nastíněna prevence patologického hráčství a jeho možná řešení v případě, že žák hraje hazardní hry.Teoretická část je vypracována na základě analýzy a následné syntézy informací získaných studiem odborných zdrojů. Cílem praktické části bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda žáci na vybrané střední odborné škole hrají hazardní hry, jaké typy hazardních her a jakým způsobem je provozují. Cílem je také zjistit, jaké povědomí mají žáci o hazardním hraní. Průzkumné šetření je založeno na kvantitativním přístupu, hlavním zdrojem dat je dotazníkové šetření. Respondenty průzkumného šetření jsou žáci prvních až čtvrtých ročníků střední odborné školy. Výsledky průzkumu jsou prezentovány pomocí tabulek a grafů vytvořených programem MS Excel.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on secondary school students´ gambling. The aim of the thesis is to reveal whether the students of a selected secondary vocational school gamble, in which way and whether they are instructed about risks connected with gambling in the framework of prevention.The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The aim of the theoretical part is to characterise a concept of gambling in connection with secondary school students and to point at possible risks related to this pathologic issue. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, a prevention of pathologic gambling is outlined together with its possible solutions in case a student is gambling.The theoretical part is based on an analysis and a following synthesis of information obtained from a study of special sources. The aim of the practical part of the bachelor thesis is to discover whether the students of a selected secondary vocational school gamble, what kind of gambling they practise and in which way. The thesis is also aimed at revealing students´ awareness of gambling. The re-search construct is based on a quantitative approach, the main source of the data is a questionnaire research. The respondents of this research are students of the first-fourth classes of a secondary vocational school. The results of the research are presented in tables and charts in MS Excel programme.
