The comparison of reading skills among intact pupils and pupils with learning disabilities in the 4th grade of primary school

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku čtenářské gramotnosti u žáků 4. ročníku základní školy. Práce je rozvržena na část teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část je obsažena ve třech kapitolách. Věnuje se terminologickému vymezení, klasifikaci, etiologii a symptomatologii specifických poruch učení. Prezentuje oblasti prevence, diagnostiku a reedukaci, zaobírá se i legislativním rámcem vzdělávání žáků se specifickými poruchami učení. Dále přibližuje metody výuky čtení z pohledu historie i současnosti, specifikuje vzdělávací oblast Jazyk a jazyková komunikace, uvádí koncepci čtenářské gramotnosti v programu PIRLS a charakterizuje osobnost žáka mladšího školního věku. Empirická část práce se zabývá analýzou a komparací čtenářských kompetencí u intaktních žáků a žáků se specifickou poruchou učení ve 4. ročníku ZŠ. Výzkumné šetření dokresluje deskripce místa šetření, profil výzkumného souboru, popis přístupu třídní učitelky k žákům s SPU a informace o možnostech reedukace SPU na kmenové škole. Závěrem jsou představena metodická doporučení pro speciálně-pedagogickou praxi.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of literacy skills among pupils of the 4th year of primary school. The thesis is divided in theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part contains three chapters. It deals with the definition, classification, etiology and symptomatology of specific learning disabilities. It presents the prevention, diagnosis and reeducation, also the legislative framework of education of pupils with specific learning disabilities. Further it is focused on methods of teaching the reading from the perspective of the history and the present, specifies the educational area Language and Communication, presents the concept of literacy in PIRLS program and characterizes the personality of a younger school age child. The empirical part deals with the analysis and comparison of reading competencies among intact pupils and pupils with specific learning disability in the 4th year of primary school. The survey illustrates the description of examination, the profile of the research group, a description of approach of the class teacher to pupils with learning disabilities and information about reeducation of learning disabled pupils at an ordinary school. The conclusion includes the methodological proposals for special-educational practice.
