Czech primary education in the years 1939 - 1955 on the example of primary and burgher school in Horní Cerekev

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je přiblížit to, jak vypadalo české základní školství v letech 1939–1955, tedy v době ovlivněné 2. světovou válkou a komunistickým režimem. Práce uvádí, zda a jak se projevilo toto období ve školství, a to konkrétně na příkladu obecné a měšťanské školy v Horní Cerekvi. Dále se práce zaměřuje na to, jak situaci vnímali žáci, kteří školu v daném období navštěvovali. Práce sestává ze dvou částí, teoretické a empirické, přičemž v teoretické části nastíním historii Pelhřimovska, Horní Cerekve a školství v daném období. V empirické části vše detailně popisuji a uvádím na příkladu cerekvické školy s využitím přímé metody, tedy analýzy kronik a orální historie.

Abstract:

The aim of mine bachelor's thesis is to approach what Czech primary education looked like in the years 1939 - 1955, ie in the period affected by World War II and the communist regime. The thesis shows whether and how this period manifested itself in education, specifically on the example of a primary and middle school in Horní Cerekev. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on how the situation was perceived by students who attended that school in the period. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and empirical, while in the theoretical part I outline the history of Pelhřimov, Horní Cerekev and education in the period. In the empirical part, I describe everything in detail and present it on the example of the school in Horní Cerekev using the direct method, ie by analysing chronicles and oral history.
